When many boiler repair companies use words such as ‘expert’ and ‘professional’ in their advertising, how can you find a company that actually means it? The answer is to do your research properly and be extremely cautious in your approach. 

If you are to ever carry out on any DIY the involves connecting or disconnecting the gas supply you are only allowed to do this if you are registered as GAS SAFI which used to be known as CORGI. This is not a silly little law or anything like “Bog Brother” it is there to keep you, your family, your home and the people living next door to you safe from escaping gas.

However, when you enlist in the services of a professional plumber, will it really be “professional”? It is a great question to ask and here are a few points that you need to consider.

1. Is the work being carried out to the correct standard? Other than having the work checked over by a 2nd plumber how can you tell if the work is correct? The good news for you is that a GAS SAFR plumber has to work to the highest standards, if they are not working as the should be it is easy to be taken off the register. Every gas engineer in the UK who wishes to work must be at this standard, otherwise they are not permitted to sell their services.

2. The word “professional” can many different things to different people, but to us it also means dress correctly, being polite, offering the best advice, making sure you understand the advice given to you, being prompt with our service and being as clean and tidy as we possibly can.

Essentially the process should look like this.

a) Your initial phone call is received, we do our best to understand the situation over the phone and provide you with any immediate advice if we can.

b) We arrange to meet you at a certain time, if there are delays we will keep you notified.

c) Upon arrival we make an analysis of the problem and advising you of the best course of action.

d) We are then able to give you a time frame for completion (often the same day depending upon the problem) order in or collect parts as required and complete the work.

If at any stage you feel our service is not standard you will always be able to speak directly with the company owner Steven Morgan.
